Friends of Akhuwat hosts meetup and dinner in New York.

New York State Senator Steve Rhoads reveals that the state of New York spends $855 million in the drop of a hat and is not as well spent as the Akhuwat, which is an example for a sustainable way to get funding to those in need while providing the opportunity for borrowers to lift themselves out of poverty.

He said this while addressing a meet-up and dinner organized by Akhut USA for Akhuwat friends in local restaurant in Hicksville, New York.

The meet-up and dinner started with recitation of Holy Quran. The moderator Saeed Hassan welcome all guests and introduced Akhuwat. After the recitation, Atiq Qadri, a social and business personality, Recited a Naat to express his devotion with prophet (PBUH).

A large number of Pakistani American community participated in the event while officials of various organizations also participated. Earlier Senator Steve Rhoads said that ‘’ I have been a youth minister in a local parish for ten years. The fact that we’re here tonight is by the grace of God.

The fact that we’re in a position to be here, in a position to be able to give is a gift from God, he added.

 

Dr. Amjad Saqib, founder of Akhuwat, participated in the event via Zoom meeting from Pakistan. In a video link address, he said that his organization has tried to help the needy in any way possible and make them realize that they are not alone.

On this occasion, Akhuwat USA President Dr. Noman Mufti, Patron Saud Ansari and Mian Mushtaq Javed informed the audience about the various projects of their organization and highlighted the importance of charity and service to mankind in Islam.

They also urged people “to Join Akhuwat and feel the impact of your financial contribution”.

The representatives of various community organizations participating in the ceremony and the people associated with the Akhuwat also expressed their views and share different experiences.

It is always being blessed to serve the humanity and no other replacement could be better reward of it, they added.

On this occasion, well-known poet Khalid Masood Khan recited a humorous poem on the current Pakistani politics and the alleged rigging of elections. Before the end of the ceremony, the State Senator presented certificates of appreciation to the leadership of the Akhuwat in recognition of their services.
