New York: The first Anniversary of the martyrdom of New York Police Department (NYPD) Muslim cop Adeed Fayyaz was observed in New York City.
On the first anniversary of Adeed Fayyaz, NYPD’s Union PBA and 66 Precinct organized a memorial service at Sultan Masjid in Brooklyn.
Adeed Fayyaz’s father, wife and other family members, Consul General Amir Ahmad Attozai, police commissioner Edward Caban and many officers of the department and the community attended and paid tribute to Adeed Fayyaz.
Speaking on this occasion, Imam explained the rank and place of martyrdom in Islam.
On this occasion, senior police officials described Adeed Fayyaz as a hero, while the deceased’s father expressed his thoughts while controlling his emotions.
He said, I am grateful to all those people who supported us since the martyrdom of Adeed till now.
It should be noted that Adeed Fayyaz was shot dead last year while on duty while thwarting a dacoity.
After his martyrdom, a street in New York was named after him.
