Gujarat: A former New York Police Department (NYPD) police personnel Zain Cheema was released on bail, a day after the Gurajat police arrested him including 17 others on charges of blocking the road during a protest held in support of an independent candidate of the current beleaguered Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (TPI).
According to the details, the police of Gujrat city of Punjab province of Pakistan arrested Zain Cheema, a former American police officer of Pakistani origin, after raiding the residence of independent candidate of PTI Mudassar Machhiana.
Zain Cheema was accused of road blockade and raising political slogans.
According to sources, Zain Malik has been an officer in the American city of New York, but he left the job in 2022.
The accused belongs to Noorpur area of Gujarat, these days he has come to Pakistan for vacation and had participated in the political rally of his friend.
The police arrested eighteen people including Zain Cheema and registered a case against them
Zain Cheema was later released on a bail.
