Three million people from New York to Boston have been warned of flash flooding
New York: Stormy rains and floods have struck northeastern states of America; causing havoc to normal life, as authorities have warned at least 3 million people from New York to Boston of more flash floods, and asked them to take precautionary measures.
In New York, an ill-fated person was swept away by the floodgates. Due to the rising water level in the rivers, the low-lying areas were inundated. Many people were evacuated by boats.
Roads were washed away in many areas and people were forced to abandon their vehicles and move to safer places.
More than 1,000 flights have been canceled while a major rail service in New York has also been suspended.
Three million people from New York to Boston have been warned to take precautions. The governor of New York has declared a state of emergency in affected counties.
Train service between Albany and New York has been suspended.
Officials have also warned of flash flooding in Pennsylvania, New York, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Connecticut and Vermont.
