Toughest lockdown across Germany amid third wave of Corona Virus

Supermarkets, schools and institutions close from December 16 to January 10.

Dramatic increase in the number of corona virus patients has been noticed. Government has taken decision to close all supermarkets, schools and institutions from December 16 to January 10.

 The government has been given authority to provincial governments to eases in lockdowns, in-case of reduction in number of COVID-19 cases or efforts to curb the spread of the virus, while capital, Berlin, was closed until January 10. Berlin mayor calls for lockdown as soon as possible, expressing concerns over spreading pandemic.

 German Chancellor Angela Merkel announced implementation of toughest lockdown across Germany from December 16 to January 10, 2021 in a Press conference after 16-states zooming conference in Berlin on Sunday.

The decision is being made to control, uncontrollable wave of corona virus in the country, this lock down considered to be toughest.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel said that partial lockdown imposed in country had failed to control on virus outbreak, so now tough decisions have been made.

Decision to tighten the lockdown was aimed for eases mounted burden on German health care system she added.

There was currently rise in number of COVID-19 cases in hospitals across Germany. Shortage of ventilators and intensive care wards has been noticed Merkel said.

She urged citizens to cooperate with government and strictly abide orders against COVID-19, so that we save our patients, elders and human beings, until vaccine arises in market.
