Veteran Pakistan Cricket Team Captain Shahid Afridi Tested Positive for Covid-19

Former captain of the Pakistani Cricket Team Shahid Afridi has contracted the novel Coronavirus. Boom Boom took to twitter on Saturday that he has tested positive for Covid-19, test he took after suffering from an illness since Thursday.

40-year old Afridi also sought the blessings and prayers for his speedy recovery. “I’ve been feeling unwell since Thursday; my body had been aching badly. I’ve been tested and unfortunately I’m covid positive. Need prayers for a speedy recovery, InshaAllah,” Afridi wrote on twitter.

Shahid Afridi has found himself involved in social activities during the pandemic, in his tireless venture to aid the people of Pakistan in despair due to the country wide lock down.

Cricketer Mohammad Hafeez took his reaction to the news on twitter, saying that Afridi was a “fighter by nature. I am sure you will fight the virus and will defeat it soon.”

Kamran Akmal also joined in praying for Afridi on twitter, tweeting “Prayers are for your long, healthy life. Get well soon,”

Afridi, who made his debut for Pakistan back in 1996, played 27 Tests, 398 ODIs and 99 T20Is for the nation. Post retirement, the veteran cricketer has been serving for the people through his human welfare organization.
