NEWYORK: Pakistani American community organized an event to celebrate promotion of Pakistani-American police officer Mohammad Jahangir Ashraf to the rank of inspector, and other police officers promotions in the New York Police Department.
The event was held at residence of NYPD police officer Omar Yasin which was attended by a large number of police officers, social figures, community leaders and friends who congratulated the promoted officers.
The ceremony was hosted by Inspector Adeel Rana, Sergeant Saghir Ahmed and Detective Zeeshan Munawar.
During the ceremony, not only Mohammad Jahangir Ashraf but also the promotion of Rizwan Aslam, Arif Taimur and Sajjad Baloch to various positions was celebrated and their professional services were appreciated and tributes were paid to them.
Inspector Adeel Rana thanked Omar Yasin and his entire family for organizing ceremony at his residence.
Addressing the participants, Inspector Adeel Rana said that the large number of people participating in the ceremony despite the short notice is a clear proof of Jahangir Ashraf’s services and popularity.
He also congratulated Sajjad Baloch, Arif Taimur and Rizwan Aslam on being promoted to the positions of Detective Investigator, Sergeant and Lieutenant respectively.
Jahangir Ashraf, who was promoted to the rank of Inspector, thanked Allah Almighty and thanked the hosts, family, fellow officers and the community.
He said that this promotion is not only his personal achievement but is a source of pride for the entire community.
He appreciated the guidance and cooperation of Inspector Adeel Rana and said that his encouragement was important in his success, while calling the support of the community as the foundation for the development of the next generation.
Promoted officers Sajjad Baloch, Arif Taimur and Rizwan Aslam thanked Allah Almighty for their success and said that every success is the result of Allah’s will, the prayers and cooperation of family, friends and the community. They called Inspector Adeel Rana and Jahangir Ashraf a beacon of light for the new generation and paid tribute to their services.
The participants expressed their views and said that Mohammad Jahangir Ashraf’s promotion to the rank of Inspector is not only his personal achievement but also a source of pride and a historical milestone for the entire Pakistani-American community.
The presence of the family of martyred police officer Deedar-ul-Islam in the ceremony caused emotional moments.
Deedar-ul-Islam’s brother-in-law Hassan appreciated the services of Mohammad Jahangir Ashraf and Inspector Adeel Rana and said that in difficult times, both stood by his family at every step and are still supporting and encouraging them.
Police Officer Omar Yasin also thanked all the guests for coming and congratulated the promoted officers
The highlight of the ceremony was the soulful qawwali of famous qawwal Ijaz Sher Ali Khan, which enthralled the gathering and the audience enjoyed the Qawwali.
A special cake was also cut on this occasion to celebrate the achievements of the promoted officers. The participants congratulated each other and expressed their happiness.
Later, participants expressed their best wishes for a bright future, further achievements and journey of service for all the promoted officers.
