POWER hosts reception to celebrate Chand Raat festival in New York

NEWYORK: The social organization, People for Welfare, Equality & Reform POWER hosted a dinner to celebrate the success of the Chand Raat Festival in New York, expressing gratitude to the community and welcome new members to the organization.

The event held at a local restaurant which began with the recitation of the Holy Quran.

The event was moderated by POWER General Secretary Tahira Deen, who introduced the guests, board members and new members joining the organization.

Addressing the participants, POWER Chairman Ijaz Bukhari and President Imran Agra, who was recently added to the Nassau County Advisory Board, said that the organization will become stronger in the future.

Prominent figures from the Pakistani American community also participated in the event.

Addressing the participants, POWER’s General Secretary Tahira Deen, Joint Secretary Wajiha Syed and others said that this year’s Chand Raat Festival was a success beyond expectations and all of such success was the result of the community’s cooperation.

Nassau County Asian American Affairs Executive Director Aun Naqvi, social and literary figures Jamal Mohsin, Wasim Syed, Dr. Sadia and others appreciated POWER’s efforts to promote cultural activities.

POWER members, who were instrumental in the success of the festival, said that they will continue their efforts to make the future events more better in future.

Famous TikToker Sparrow USA and media representatives also expressed their views at the event.  The event also expressed gratitude to the festival’s sponsors, vendors and others.
