Eid Committee organizes 20 th annual Iftar dinner in New Jersey
NEW JERSEY: Eid Committee of New Jersey organized the 20th annual Iftar dinner and crescent lighting which was attended not only by the Muslim community but also people from other faiths and from different walks of life.
The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Eid Committee of New Jersey’s leader Khwaja Tamkeen Khatib welcomed the guests on their arrival. Scholars highlighted the importance of Ramadan.
A group of young children presented a wonderful performances which captivated the hearts of the audience.

Dream Molder’s stage backdrop resembling the Al-Aqsa Mosque was the center of special attention of the participants, which also gave the participants a message to remember the first Qibla.
The Iftar dinner was also attended by various American politicians and government officials, including Assemblywoman Shama Haider. The speakers appreciated the role of the community and interfaith harmony.
The event was also attended by representatives from Bergen County. The guests expressed their commitment to promoting community unity and mutual relations.

During the event, Imran Khawaja also presented awards to Dr. Shakeel Hussain Ahmed and other prominent figures in recognition of their services.
This event was made possible with the support of various sponsors, thanks to whom the best practical demonstration of interfaith harmony was seen. Later, the participants broke their fast with the Adhan of Maghrib prayer.
