POWER announces new team for community service projects

NEWYORK: The People’s Organization for Welfare, Equality and Reforms, an organization working for women’s empowerment and social welfare, has announced its new team, which is committed to service, unity, and community development.

According to the organization, the members of this team are continuously working for the welfare of the community.

POWER, an organization consisting of prominent figures of the Pakistani American community, has formally announced its new leadership and executive team.

In this regard, the oath-taking ceremony held in Long Island which began with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by Naat in honor of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

The event was attended by the organization’s officials, distinguished guests, social figures and media representatives.

Aun Naqvi moderated the event. The organization’s officials expressed their determination to play a their role in promoting mutual unity, impartial service and positive change.

According to the announcement, the organization’s chairman Ijaz Bukhari will provide strategic guidance and supervision.

Imran Agra has been elected president, Abdul Rehman has been elected senior vice president. The vice presidents included Sajid, Humayun, Safdar Qureshi and Mantika Shah, while Nayyar Abbas will provide professional guidance as an executive member and Dr. Faraz as an advisor.

Tahira Deen has been elected as Power’s general secretary while Wajiha Syed will perform the duties of joint secretary and Hiba Din as finance secretary.

Other administrative functions of the organization include Uzma Rehman as Program Coordinator, Iqra as Fundraising Coordinator, Maryam Jalil as Communication Coordinator, and Fawzia Gondal as Project Manager.

Asma Nozi will be responsible for organizing community events. Dr. Naheed Khan will lead the social service and human rights department, while Suman will be the advisor and Zahida Imran will handle the affairs of the political wing.

The speakers appreciated the services of POWER and expressed their best wishes for further success.

A detailed briefing was given at the event regarding the upcoming year’s projects, community programs, and welfare initiatives.
