WASHINGTON D.C: Pakistan’s Ambassador to the US Rizwan Saeed Sheikh has said India’s unilateral and illegal actions in illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir are a blatant violation of United Nations resolutions and a clear manifestation of its intransigence.
He was speaking at a special webinar organized by the Embassy of Pakistan in Washington DC.
The Ambassador said that Kashmir Solidarity Day is an expression of Pakistan’s unwavering moral, diplomatic, and political support for their Kashmiri brethren and their right to self-determination.
He also pointed out that the prolonged unresolved Kashmir dispute raises serious questions about the UN’s role and effectiveness. He stressed that the legal aspects of the Kashmir dispute require careful scrutiny, especially after India’s illegal action on August 5, 2019 and the situation in Gaza.
Rizwan Saeed Sheikh said the policy of neglecting the resolution of the Kashmir dispute is putting both regional and global peace at serious risk.
