NEWYORK: Human Necessity Foundation, a non-governmental social organization working on projects to provide clean water in rural areas of Pakistan, organized a fund-raising dinner and meet-and-greet with renowned Pakistani actor Faisal Qureshi in New York.
The fund-raising event began with the recitation of the Holy Quran.
Pakistani American Community USA’s general secretary Asim Malik, Halal Guide’s Raza Dastagir played an important role to ensure organizing of the event. Shirazi Restaurant contributed to this good deed by providing a hall free of charge. S
Special guest and renowned actor Faisal Qureshi said that instead of solving problems, people in Pakistan knew as how to live by finding alternatives.
He said that we should try to find a permanent solution to our problems. He said that overseas Pakistanis have never disappointed us.
A large number of members of the Pakistani American community from various sectors participated in the event and generously donated. At the end of the event, more than US$1,00,000 funds have been collected for the welfare project.
Director Human Necessity Foundation, Obaidullah said in a briefing that this organization was established in 2015 and has installed around 800 water stations over the past ten years, from which 12 million people are getting clean water annually.
Addressing the participants, the renowned religious scholar said that both the blessings and difficulties bestowed by Allah Almighty in life are a test for man, and to improve life, it is necessary to participate in good deeds.
An interesting conversation also took place between the co-host of the event, Samreen Hussain, and renowned actor Faisal Qureshi.
To a question, Faisal Qureshi said that acting is a technical skill, and it could not be taught to anyone.
PAC’s general secretary Asim Malik expressed his gratitude to all the guests and sponsors.
Later, renowned singer Ustad Rafaqat Ali Khan captivated the audience by singing popular Kalam “Tu Kuja Man Kuja”.
