NEWYORK: Pakistani American businessman Zahid Ahsan hosted a meet and greet in honor of Sheharyar Ali, a candidate for legislator in Nassau County.
The meet and greet was held in Valley Stream which was attended by community members.
Sheharyar Ali is the first Pakistani-American candidate for the legislature from District 14 of Nassau County, Long Island. Shahryar Ali will contest from the Republican Party in the November 4 election.
The event’s host, Zahid Ahsan, and other speakers praised Sheharyar Ali’s political services and vision, and said that Sheharyar Ali’s success will not only be a milestone for the community but will also pave the way for effective representation of Pakistani Americans in the political arena.
Addressing the participants, Sheharyar Ali said that the purpose of his politics is not just to get elected, but to strongly convey the voice of his community to the government houses. He assured the voters that if elected, he will work hard for the rights, education, health, employment and tax reforms of his community.
The speakers appealed to the participants to vote for Sheharyar Ali in November and get elected the first Pakistani legislator. The participants assured that they will vote Ali in the November elections and make him successful and elect the first Pakistani-origin legislator in Nassau County.
