NEWYORK: Children of Adam, a charitable organization of United States of America, organized a fundraising event in New York for Bani Adam psychiatric hospital to be established in Karachi. Pakistan’s famous actor Adnan Siddiqui also participated in the event.
Addressing a participants during an event at Long Island, founding patron of Children of Adam and religious scholar Mufti Farhan said that the first idea of this project came from the mind of Tariq Abraham, a physiatrist in New York, which was joined by Waseem Qadri and Sheikh Ali. He appreciated the role of project director Shahzad Sadan and said that Shahzad had held the highest positions in various hospitals and was now voluntarily overseeing the project.
Elaborating about the project, project director Shahzad Sadan said that 33% of people in Karachi are psychiatric patients, so we decided that a hospital should be established in Karachi from which the people of Sindh and Balochistan can also take benefit from it.
Talking with VOSA, Shahzad Sadan said that all the facilities will be available in the hospital as per international standards.
Special guest of the program Adnan Siddiqui said that only 5 hospitals were working on mental health in Pakistan and such a case, the establishment of this hospital will be a great achievement and expressed hope that this project will be successful.
The family of Imran Feroz and Faisal Ejaz, the host of the program, announced a donation of$50,000. Talking to Vosa, the family of Imran Feroz and Faisal Ejaz said that more and more people should actively participate in this good cause.
A large number of community members participated in the fundraising event and people donated generously.
