NEWYORK: The New Life Minority Human Rights Council distributed certificates to women who completed beautician courses under the guidance of the NLMHR as part of their women empowerment campaign.
The certificate distribution ceremony was held at Coney Island Avenue, which began with the recitation of the Holy Quran.
The ceremony was attended by elected members of the assembly, community leaders, women who completed the beautician course, and members of the organization.
Addressing the participants, Assemblyman Bobby Carroll and the first Pakistani-American inspector in the New York Police Department, Adeel Rana, appreciated the efforts of the New Life Minority Human Rights Council. They said that there is no shortage of talent among the youth, only the need to provide opportunities to move forward.
Chairperson of the New Life Minority Human Rights Council Raheela Aslam said that she has always tried to do whatever she can to empower the community.
The women who completed the beautician course will not only be able to get jobs but also start their own businesses in the future. On this occasion, certificates were distributed to them in the presence of American officials.
The ceremony was attended by a representative from council member Farah Lewis’s office and other local US officials who praised New Life’s community service activities. The speakers encouraged the beautician course graduates and expressed their best wishes for the future.
Special citations were also presented by Councilwoman Farah Louis and Senator Chuck Schumer in recognition of the services of the New Life Minority Human Rights Council. The ceremony concluded with a cake cutting ceremony to mark the 250th anniversary of US independence.
