Third annual Arab-American Heritage day celebrated in New York

NEWYORK: The third annual Arab American Heritage Day was celebrated at the New York Police Department under the auspices of the Arab American Law Enforcement Fraternal Association.

The event showcased the culture of Arab countries and various personalities were given awards and certificates.

The colorful event of the third annual Arab American Heritage Day organized by the Arab American Law Enforcement Fraternal Association at the New York Police Headquarters One Police Plaza began with the American national anthem and Muslim chaplain Imam Tahir led a prayer.

The event was also attended by New York Police Commissioner Jessica Tish and other high-ranking officials.

Commissioner Jessica Tish congratulated the Arab American cultural heritage. She said that Arab American police officers also play an important role in maintaining law and order in the city and ensuring the safety of citizens.

A large number of officers from different religions and nationalities, including not only Arabs but also South Asians and other countries, who were part of the New York Police Department, attended the event.

Officials of the Arab American Law Enforcement Fraternal Association said that Arab civilization and culture have their own unique historical significance and identity, and we want other communities to be aware of our civilization and culture.

The culture of Arab countries was beautifully presented at the event, in which traditional music and dresses greatly impressed the participants.

A special documentary on the performance of professional duties by police officers was also shown to the participants at the event.

Addressing the participants, social media influencers and other speakers praised the services of the Arab American community and said that such programs promote harmony and brotherhood between different communities.

Later, officers performing their duties in various departments of the police department were also presented with awards and certificates in recognition of their services.
