Businessmen Samar Khan, Haji Sabir host Iftar dinner at Jamia Muhammadiya Masjid in Brooklyn

NEWYORK: Businessman and General Secretary Mohammad Samar Khan and Haji Sabir hosted the 18th annual Iftar dinner at Jamia Muhammadiya Razavi Masjid in Brooklyn, New York.

A large number of members of the Pakistani and Bangladeshi Muslim community attended the Iftar dinner.

The event began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, after which scholars highlighted the virtues of Ramadan and the importance of Iftar. The speakers highlighted the message of unity, brotherhood and mutual respect on the occasion. Naat was also recited in honor of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

The participants also offered prayers for the Muslim Ummah unity at time of Iftar.

Organizers of the event Haji Sabir Khan and Mohammad Samar Khan, thanked the officers of the New York Police Department for their presence and appreciated their services.

Deputy Inspector Waheed Akhter (Deputy Inspector Intelligence PSS), Deputy Inspector Mobeen Yasin (72nd Pct), Deputy Chief Sylvester Ge (Executive Officer of the Transportation Bureau), Owais Khanzada (Commanding Officer Traffic), Deputy Inspector Aiden I. Forrester (Community Affairs), Lieutenant Haider Shah (NYPD Transit Citywide Vandals), Sergeant Mehtab Malhi (NYPD Transit District 23), and from the 66th Precinct: Lieutenant Saiful Islam, Deputy Inspector Kenneth Herrarte, Police Officer Richard Bottalico, Sergeant Wing Chan, Captain Kevin Cascone, and Detective Michael Riomao attended the Iftar Dinner.

Police officers expressed their gratitude to the organizers and said that we will provide all possible support to listen to the problems of the community and solve them.

Other officers of the New York City Police Department also expressed their impressions on this occasion.

Later, the organizers presented awards to the police officers for community services.
