NEWYORK: Town of Oyster Bay hosted Iftar for Muslim community at Hicksville Community Center.
Supervisor Town of Oyster Bay Joeph Saladino welcomed the guests on their arrival at Iftar.
Addressing a participants, Joseph Saladino Supervisor Town of Oysterbay said that Ramadan is the blessed month of the Muslim community and these important traditions are honored and respected.
He said that his father was also a town councilman from 1970 to 1980 and he taught me how to become a leader and this event of is part of his teaching of leadership.
He said that everyone is welcomed in this town, especially those who have come from other countries to come to America to enjoy and a better life. He said that we focus on building a better life and we also work so hard for our children and grandchildren.
He said that we want opportunity and the road to opportunity comes with hard work, comes with respect, respect for our elders, respect for our co-workers, men and women.
He said that education is paramount and we should make sure that we teach our religious values to our children, and making sure that we continue to follow the teachings from our religion.
