Pakistani jurist attends annual conference of American academy of forensic sciences in US

NEW ORLEANS: Pakistani jurist and CEO Justice Inn Ashfaq Ahmed Kharal, who is also an advocate of Pakistan’s supreme court, participated as a moderator in the annual conference of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences in New Orleans (USA).

The conference was held from February 10 to 14 at the New Orleans Convention Center, in which judges, prosecutors and lawyers from all over the world participated.

Ashfaq Ahmed Kharal has been an Associate Member of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences since 2014 and is also a member of the Forensic Commission of the Government of Pakistan.

His selection as a moderator at the conference is being described as a significant honor for the legal sector of Pakistan.

In his address, he highlighted the effective use of modern forensic techniques and equipment in judicial proceedings, especially in criminal cases. He emphasized that scientific evidence can be made admissible and reliable under the law of evidence, provided it is presented under the correct procedure.

He appreciated the role of Chief Justice Lahore High Court Alia Neelam, saying that she fully recognizes the importance of modern scientific techniques in criminal cases and supports its effective use in the judicial system.

The conference held detailed discussions on new trends in forensic science at the global level, judicial reforms and the quality of scientific evidence.

The participation of Ashfaq Ahmed Kharal is being described as a positive development for the legal and forensic sector of Pakistan, which led to the representation of the country at the global level.
