ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s foreign office says Pakistan believes in diplomacy and dialogue, but it reserves right to take any kind of appropriate action in self-defence to counter Indian-sponsored terrorism emanating from Afghanistan soil.
Ministry of foreign affairs’ spokesperson Tahir Andrabi, during a media briefing, said Pakistan values the positive role of brotherly neighbouring countries and the international community including Saudi Arabia for resolving the issues.
He urged the international community to play its proactive role in stopping the Indian-backed terrorism from Afghanistan.
Replying to another question, Tahir Andrabi expressed the hope that Board of Peace on Gaza will live up to the expectations, taking concrete steps towards the implementation of a permanent ceasefire, further scaling up of humanitarian aid for the Palestinians, as well as reconstruction of Gaza.
The Spokesperson said Pakistan also hopes that these efforts will lead to the realization of the right to self-determination of the people of Palestine, through a credible, time-bound political process, consistent with international legitimacy and relevant UN resolutions, resulting in the establishment of an independent, sovereign, and contiguous State of Palestine, based on the pre-1967 borders with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
