Pakistan’s senate chairman for permanent peace solution of Kashmir and Palestine

NEWYORK: Pakistan’s senate chairman Yousaf Raza Gilani has said that world community must decide permanent solution for peace in Kashmir and Gaza as no country can deal with these problems alone.

He said that overseas Pakistani should also be represented in the Senate. He was addressing a dinner hosted in his honor in New York.

Pakistani-American community hosted a reception in honor of Chairman Senate Yousaf Raza Gilani who is on visit to the United States to participate the IPU meeting at the United Nations. The event began with the recitation of the Holy Quran.

Prominent figures from the Pakistani American community were present in the event. Community leaders presented bouquets to Senate Chairman Yousuf Raza Gilani.

Addressing the audience, Yousuf Raza Gilani said that we want permanent peace in the region. He said that Pakistan had given the message to India in the past that wars are not the solution to problems, and conflicts can only be resolved through dialogue.

Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to UN Asim Iftikhar said that it is necessary to promote mutual relations between Pakistan and the United States.

New York State Senator Jessica Ramos was also present at the event. She said that the Pakistani community has achieved a prominent place in the fields of education, health, business and culture.

Earlier, host of the event Alamdar Shah welcomed all the guests.

He said that Senator Jessica Ramos intends to visit Pakistan along with a business delegation, expressing hope that this will benefit both countries.

Pakistani-American community leaders Chaudhry Sarwar, Zaheer Mehar and others drew attention of chairman senate to the problems faced by overseas Pakistanis and also proposed their representation in the Senate.

Later, Senator Jessica Ramos presented citations to leaders of the Pakistani community including Chairman Senate Yousaf Raza Gilani, while Yousaf Raza Gilani presented gifts to the US officials.
