PASWO distribute rations to low-income families in New York

NEWYORK: The Pakistani American Skilled Women Organization in New York has completed six years of food pantry during Ramadan. PASWO also distributed rations to a large number of low-income families this year too.

Pakistani American women in New York are at the forefront of helping the poor families. The Pakistani American Skilled Women Organization organized a special food pantry outside its office located at the intersection of Coney Island and Ditmas Avenue on the occasion of Ramadan. The event began with recitation of Holy Quran.

Low-income families of Muslims and other communities gathered from different areas of Brooklyn to get benefit from PASWO’s Ramadan Food Pantry. The families were provided with all the necessary items for Sehri and Iftar.

Founder of PASWO Atiya Shahnaz and president of the organization Shaheen Khokhar said that the blessings of the month of Ramadan are for everyone. This blessed month teaches us to promote unity and understanding, patience, tolerance, and brotherhood.

American officials, representatives of the Met Council and their volunteers participated in the food pantry of PASWO and actively distributed essential items to the families.

The speakers said that Muslim and non-Muslim communities got an opportunity to come together due to PASWO food pantry.

Women members and volunteers of PASWO participated actively in the food distribution drive. They said that our food pantry continues all year round and they want everyone to have a good Ramadan.

The American officials appreciated PASWO ‘s indiscriminate community services. Later, prayers were offered.
