MUZAFFARABAD: Black Day was observed across Azad Jammu and Kashmir to protest against Indian occupation of Jammu and Kashmir on occasion of India’s so-called Republic Day.
Peaceful and well-organized public rallies were taken out in various parts of Azad Kashmir, where a large number of people participated to register their strong protest against Indian atrocities in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Participants of the rallies reaffirmed their unwavering support for the ongoing freedom struggle of the Kashmiri people against occupying Indian forces. They said the Indian occupation regime in Occupied Kashmir has no legal, constitutional or moral justification.
The participants emphasized that the rule imposed under the shadow of guns cannot be accepted and will not be allowed to continue.
They said that by observing Black Day, Kashmiris want to send a clear message to the international community that India is not a democratic state.
During the rallies, the speakers recalled that on 5th August 2019, India illegally revoked the special status of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, depriving its people of their political and constitutional rights.
They maintained that a country guilty of widespread human rights violations against Kashmiris has no right to celebrate Republic Day.
Calling upon the United Nations and the world community, the speakers questioned how a fascist and oppressive state can be declared democratic.
They reiterated that the Kashmiri people remain united and firmly committed to their just struggle for the right to self-determination.
They said India cannot hide from the world its sinister actions of depriving Kashmiris of their political, constitutional and human rights.
