NY resources not reaching to hardworking and small business owners, workers, governor candidate Delgado

NEWYORK: New York State Lieutenant Governor and governor candidate Antonio Delgado has said that the state has no shortage of resources, but these resources are not reaching hardworking and small business owners.

Addressing a Meet and Greet in his honor held at Dera Restaurant in New York, Delgado said that he want to bring real change.

Democratic Lieutenant Governor Antonio Delgado will run for governor this year.

The Pakistani American community organized a Meet and Greet in honour of Delgado and welcomed him on his arrival and presented him a bouquet.

The event was hosted by well-known business and social figure and owner of Dera Restaurant, Saif Nagra, while Nadeem Kirmani moderated the program which began with the recitation of the Holy Quran.

The event was attended by prominent figures from various sectors of the Pakistani American community.

Addressing the participants, Lieutenant Governor Antonio Delgado, the candidate for governor, said that despite being among the world’s major economies, New York is facing severe economic difficulties.

He said that current government stands with large real estate developers, Wall Street and corporate interests, while small businesses, workers, farmers and minority communities are being neglected.

Meet and Greet discussed various issues with the candidate for governor, participants asked questions and gave suggestions and advice.

Antonio Delgado also announced his support for increasing taxes on the wealthy class and large companies, investing economic development funds directly in communities, universal healthcare, childcare and the New York for All Act to protect immigrants.

Renowned business and social figures Saif Nagra and Nadeem Kirmani assured Antonio Delgado of full support from the Pakistani community in the election of the governor.

Earlier, in a conversation with the community, Antonio Delgado assured Muslim community of preventing Islamophobia, providing economic opportunities, introducing a state-level holiday on Eid, and ending cooperation between immigration and local police.
