NEWYORK: Pakistan’s federal minister for Railways Mohammad Hanif Abbasi met Pakistani-American businessman Chaudhry Tanveer at his residence in New York.
Chaudhry Tanveer welcomed Hanif Abbasi on his arrival and presented him with a bouquet. Despite the federal minister’s short and busy visit to the US, this personal meeting is being viewed with great respect in community circles.
Chaudhry Tanveer said that it is a matter of pride and honor for him that the federal minister visited his house. He described this meeting as a manifestation of love, sincerity and commitment to Pakistan.
Several prominent leaders and respected members of the Pakistani American community, including Pakistan’s Consul General in New York, Aamir Ahmed Atuzai, also attended the meeting.
Community leaders said that such contacts not only strengthen the relationship between overseas Pakistanis and the government of Pakistan but also promote mutual trust and cooperation.
The participants said that this meeting of the federal minister will help in better highlighting the problems and views of overseas Pakistanis, while such contacts lead to the promotion of bilateral trust and cooperation.
