NEWYORK: Sohni Watan Gilgilt Biltistan USA organized Gilgit-Baltistan Day which was celebrated by the Pakistani Americans with great enthusiasm in New York.
The event the culture, traditions and history of Gilgit-Baltistan. Guests were welcomed to the beat of drums.

The national anthems of Pakistan and the United States were played, while the ceremony was moderated by Samreen Hussain.
Addressing the participants, Naseem Gilgiti, the head of the organization, explained the aims and objectives of the organization and welcomed all the guests on their arrival.
Minister for Planning and Development of Gilgit-Baltistan, Raja Nasir attended the event as special guest.

Addressing the participants, Raja Nasir spoke about the importance of tourist destinations in Gilgit-Baltistan and praised the organization of Sony Watan Gilgit-Baltistan for organizing this event in New York.
Pakistani Consul General in New York, Aamir Ahmed Atuzai and Pakistani Senator Chairman Steering Committee Rana Mahmoodul Hassan also attended the ceremony.

All the guests were provided traditional shawls and caps by the Soni Biltistan. While Azan Butt presented book to the chief guest.
Consul General, Aamir Ahmed Atuzai said that he participates in various community programs, but Naseem Gilgiti deserves praise for the beautiful blend of communities seen here.

Pakistani Senator and Chairman of the Steering Committee Rana Mahmoodul Hassan, who participated in the ceremony, praised the Pakistan Army and said that US President Trump will not let anyone forget how Pakistan defeated India.
Heads of various organizations of the Pakistani American community, Pervaiz Siddiqui, Iram Hanif, Ali Rashid, Shazia Wattoo and others also participated in the Gilgit-Baltistan Day ceremony.

Addressing the participants, the speakers appreciated the organization of the program, while also emphasizing their full participation in the elections to be held on November
Political, social and business figures of the community, including Inspector Adeel Rana, a Pakistani-American officer in the New York Police, also participated in the ceremony.
Atiya Shahnaz presented certificates of appreciation to the Sony Watan Gilgit-Baltistan organization on behalf of the Mayor’s Office.
Deputy Public Advocate Kashif Hussain also presented a certificate of appreciation to the organization of Sohni Watan Gilgit-Baltistan, while the organization also presented a certificate of appreciation for their services.
The ceremony also featured a musical performance, with famous singer Saima Jahan who entertained the audience with her beautiful songs.
A cultural dance was also performed at the Gilgit-Baltistan Day ceremony.
The guests at the ceremony not only got the opportunity to participate in the culture of Gilgit-Baltistan, but as a result of the draws conducted by APNA Adult Day Care, the winners also received a gift of a sponsored trip to Gilgit-Baltistan.
