NEWYORK: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf held a protest demonstration outside the United Nations headquarters for release of its incarcerated founder leader Imran Khan.
During the 80th annual session of the United Nations General Assembly, PTI USA held a protest demonstration.
Former Deputy Speaker National Assembly Qasim Khan Suri also arrived to participate in the demonstration.
Senior PTI USA leader Amjad Nawaz said that we stand with the constitution and law of Pakistan. He said that protest is the democratic right of the people and PTI will continue its struggle till release of Imran Khan.
The protesters were holding the national flag of Pakistan, PTI flags and pictures of the founding chairman. They also raised slogans of Long Live Pakistan.
A large number of PTI activists participated in the protest demonstration. The participants were also holding placards demanding release of Imran Khan.
The protesters said that Imran Khan was an elected Prime Minister who was being subjected to political revenge. They said that democracy in the country could not be strengthen until Imran Khan is released and politically motivated cases against him are withdrawn.
