The NYPD has announced recruitments in various departments. According to the New York Police Department website, interested individuals can apply for positions including police officer, police cadet, traffic enforcement agent, police communication technician, school safety agent, school crossing guard, police administrator, evidence and property control specialist, and volunteer staff.
According to the NYPD, registration has begun and candidates can register until September 15.
The police officer exam will be free. It is mandatory to have 24 college credits to join the police.
The initial annual salary will be $60,884, which can increase to $126,000 after five and a half years of service.
