2nd Imam Hussain (RA) day observed in Nassau county

NEWYORK: The second annual Imam Hussein (RA) Day was observed in Nassau county, New York. Scholars said that the sacrifice of the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), Hazrat Hussain (RA) has sent a message that evil forces can never be supported.

The second annual Imam Hussain Day was observed at the Nassau County Executive and Legislative Building, in which a large number of people associated with all schools of thoughts participated.

At the beginning of Hussain Day, Zaki Sheikh recited the Holy Quran. The ceremony was saluted by the Nassau County Police Department’s contingent while Mehdi Naqvi, Isa Naqvi and Michael Shah sang the American national anthem.

Hussain Day was moderated by Executive Director of the Office of Asian American Affairs at Nassau County Aun Naqvi.

He said that it is the second time that Nassau County had the honor of organizing Hussain Day. It also has a unique significance at the official level in the United States.

On this occasion, Chaudhry Akram, Mohsin Shah, Javed Siddiqui, Hasnain Aziz and Resident Scholar  also spoke.

Nassau County Deputy Attorney Sheharyar Ali said that the holding this unique event is a matter of honor for the entire community. On this occasion, Ahle Sunnat Ulema Mufti Sajjad Madani and Allama Anwar Ali shed light on the life of the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and paid tribute to his struggle and sacrifice for the sake of truth and upholding the message of Islam.

Aun Naqvi expressed his gratitude to County Executive Bruce Blakeman, Senior Advisor Chaudhry Akram and the community for their cooperation in organizing Hussain Day. Earlier, Syed Hamza Shah, Hamza Rizvi and Nausher Jafari recited elegy in honor of Hazrat Hussain (RA).
