HOUSTON: A Houston-based American police constable and prominent businessman Ali Sheikhani has donated a large portion of his salary to American non-government organizations NGOs.
Ali Sheikhani, an American police constable and prominent business tycoon from Houston, has distributed a substantial amount of his first three months’ salary to American NGOs, as per his election promise.
Sheikhani had promised in his election campaign that he would donate the salary he received during his four-year term to NGOs.
The grand ceremony of distributing cheques to American NGOs was held at the office of Constable Precinct 3 Ali Sheikhani, in which cheques worth more than $4,500 were distributed to each NGO.
Speaking on the occasion, Ali Sheikhani said that he would distribute the total salary of 600,000 US dollars received during his four-year term of office, which is more than 110 million Pakistani rupees, among more than 100 NGOs in the United States.
