NEWYORK: Pakistan’s cancer care hospital and research center Lahore organized a fundraising dinner in New York which was attended by a large number of Pakistani community and cancer care hospital collected donations.
Founder and chairman of the hospital Dr. Shahryar said that all treatment in the hospital is free whereas patients from all four provinces, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan also come for treatment.
The fundraising ceremony held at the local hall was specially attended by the founder and chairman of cancer care hospital and research center, Professor Dr. Shahryar, while the special guest of the ceremony was American Pakistani Public Affairs Committee APPAC President Dr. Pervaiz Iqbal.
The fundraising ceremony was also attended by Qazi Ehtesham, the coordinator of cancer care hospital and research center Lahore in the United States, Begum Bano Qazi, and a large number of women. Hiba Qazi moderated the ceremony.
Addressing fundraising ceremony of the cancer care hospital and research center, founder and chairman Professor Dr. Shahryar said that it is not possible for any hospital to treat all the cancer patients.
He said that there were around 70 to 80 thousand cancer patients under treatment in Pakistan and when they come to know that free treatment is available at the cancer care hospital, they leave their treatment and come to cancer care hospital.
The participants of the fundraising dinner of the hospital also asked questions to the founder and chairman Dr. Shahryar.
Dr. Shahryar said that their female staff do free mammography in Balochistan, Azad Kashmir, Sindh and KPK. He said that they have done a record 6,000 mammography. He said that he thanked the donors for the love they have for Pakistan in their hearts.
American Pakistani Public Affairs Committee President Dr. Pervez Iqbal and others addressed the ceremony and said that it is impossible for the poor to get cancer treatment in Pakistan.
They said that there was no cash counter in the Cancer Care Hospital. Dr. Shehryar is working hard for cancer treatment, may Allah Almighty grant him further progress.
