APAG distributes ration bags to needy families

NEWYORK: The American Pakistani Advocacy Group (APAG) distributed Ramadan ration bags to hundreds of needy and low-income families in New York at the beginning of Ramadan.

American Pakistani Advocacy Group CARES held its annual Ramadan food drive from Allama Iqbal Avenue in the Richmond Hill area of ​​Queens.

APAG President Ali Rashid said that like every year, this year too, APAG is continuing its tradition of delivering ration bags to low-income people with the aim of helping needy families.

The APAG team distributed food items such as flour, rice, pulse, tea bags, dates, fruits, vegetables, bread, eggs to needy and low-income families.

Queens Borough President Donovan Richards, Senator Joe Addabbo and Council Member Lynn Schulman said that they always remember the communities regardless of color or race on every occasion.

APAG volunteers also participated actively in the Ramadan food drive. They said that every year they distribute rations to needy families and this is a small effort and gift from them. Hundreds of people from different communities benefited from the Ramadan food drive. Representatives from the New York City Mayor’s Office and other elected officials were also present on the occasion, who appreciated APAG’s efforts.
