Nassau County: Communication between Masajid and police to take place via mobile app in case of emergency

NEWYORK: The annual Pre-Ramadan Safety Meeting was held at the Police Intelligence and Training Center, organized by the Community Affairs Division of the Nassau County Police Department.

Like the other countries, preparations for Ramadan are underway in the United States. Muslim communities are also preparing for Ramadan, including the decoration of Islamic centers and Masajid as well as Muslim households.

Similarly, police departments also make special preparations for Ramadan. To ensure the safety of Muslim Masajid and increase mutual relations, a pre-Ramadan safety meeting is organized every year by the Nassau County Police Department.

A pre-Ramadan safety meeting was held at the Nassau Police Intelligence and Training Center in Garden City, hosted by the Nassau County Community Affairs Division. The guest of honor was Nassau County Police Department Commissioner Patrick J. Ryder.

The event began with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Commissioner Patrick J. Ryder addressed the Muslim community and assured them that followers of all religions living in Nassau County have equal status and their places of worship will be provided with equal protection.

During the meeting, the Nassau County Police Department discussed the special security measures being taken by the Muslim community.

A special mobile app was also introduced, which will allow presidents and representatives of Islamic centers and mosques to directly contact the police in any emergency situation, which could enable them for immediate assistance.

The event was also attended by Aun Naqvi, Executive Director of the Nassau County Office of Asian American Affairs, as well as presidents of various Islamic centers and Masajids, clerics, and community leaders.

Aun Naqvi thanked Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman and Commissioner Patrick J. Ryder for taking important steps to protect the Muslim community.

He said that these leaders have worked tirelessly to make Nassau County one of the safest counties in America, and have provided a peaceful environment for worship for followers of all faiths.

Later, a question and answer session was held for members of the community, in which participants asked various questions.

The police commissioner explained that in case of any problem, any member of the community should contact Aun Naqvi, Director of the Nassau County Office of Asian American Affairs, so that their problems can be conveyed to higher authorities.

A dinner was hosted by Asim Malik of Long Island, which was attended by community members, police officers, and senior officials.

All commanders and chiefs of the Nassau County Police Precinct were also present on the occasion, who emphasized further strengthening mutual relations with the community.

The meeting was an expression of commitment to provide security and convenience to the Muslim community, which the participants appreciated and expressed satisfaction with the steps taken by the Nassau County administration.
