PACOLI organizes annual dinner in New York

NEWYORK:  The prominent organization of the Pakistani community in New York, Pakistan American Community of Long Island organized annual dinner which was attended by large number of community members.

The event was decorated with music, humor and cultural colors, which greatly entertained the participants.

PACOLI’s joint secretary Asim Malik and Director Kashif Idrees moderated the event. The event officially began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Usman Abbas.

Senior Vice President Ateeq Qadri highlighted the organization’s performance in 2024.  Pakistan’s Deputy Consul General in New York Omar Sheikh specially attended the event. He appreciated the services of PACOLI and said that the organization was not only a pioneer in solving the problems of the community but was also playing a significant role in promoting cultural activities.

Speaking on the occasion, PACOLI founder Qamar Bashir expressed pride in the organization’s 50th anniversary and reiterated his commitment to the development of the community.

Bashir Qamar’s wife Tasneem Qamar said that PACOLI is like a tree and you all should stay connected to it. “We are the drop of water that will become the ocean,” she said.

Addressing participants, the organization’s president Humayun Shabbir said that the credit for decorating this bouquet goes to organization’s founder Qamar Bashir, who is still taking care of those who are part of PACOLI and is boosting their morale.

Comptroller Azra Dar, who participated in the ceremony, gave details about PACOLI’s resolution on women empowerment. On this occasion, PACOLI’s Vice President Salman Sheikh gave details of the elementary school run under PACOLI in Pakistan.

Later, the participants lauded the PACOLI’s efforts and expressed hope that organization will organize such programs in the future.

During the ceremony, a comedy play on the theme of Christmas party was also presented, in which the wonderful performances of Jamal Mohsin and Tahira Sharif won the hearts of the audience.

Famous singers captivated the audience with their performances in the wonderful musical program. Singer Hassan Abbas sang a song by adopting the style of famous singer Reshma. This ceremony was not only become a manifestation of the promotion of Pakistani culture but was also a wonderful example of bringing the community together on one platform.
