JEDDAH: Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Hissein Brahim Taha, chaired the second meeting of the bureau of the international Islamic fiqh academy (IIFA).
The meeting was attended by Dr. Saleh bin Abdullah bin Humaid, IIFA President, and Prof. Dr. Qutub Mustafa Sano, IIFA Secretary-General, in addition to the members of the Bureau.
In his opening remarks, the OIC Secretary-General welcomed members of the Bureau and congratulated the Academy for the central role it plays, through which informed answers are provided about the IIFA’s new challenges emerging due to technological and scientific progress, based on the principles and teachings of our True Religion.
He also pointed out that the Academy is not only a symbol of moderation, but also represents a basic platform for crystallizing a deep and moderate understanding of Islam in the service of all humanity.
Furthermore, he expressed his thanks to all member States, especially the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the host country of the General Secretariat and the IIFA, for the continued support it offers for both organizations.
Secretary-General thanked the IIFA President Dr. Saleh bin Abdullah bin Humaid, and IIFA Secretary-General, Professor Dr. Qutub Mustafa Sano, and all members of the Bureau, wishing the IIFA success in its noble mission.
The agenda included a review of the IIFA activities, and administrative and financial issues. The meeting discussed preparations for the 16th session of the Council of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy, to be hosted by Doha, the capital of Qatar in 2025.
