NEWYORK: New York city Mayor Eric Adams organized an Eid celebration event in honor of Muslim community at his official residence Gracie Mansion in Manhattan.
Addressing participants, Mayor Eric Adams said that New York is a beautiful bouquet of people of different religions and nationalities and there was no room for hatred in this city. “We want that all communities be provided equal opportunities to perform their festivals and rituals,” he added.
A large number of Muslim community including officers of the mayor’s office, consul generals of different countries posted in New York participated in the Eid celebration event.
On this occasion, the American officials addressed the participants and shared their views and read messages regarding Eid Al-Azha. NYC Mayor paid special attention to the children and gifts were distributed amongst them.
Oath Commissioner in the administration of New York city Asim Rehman also participated in Eid celebration event. Addressing participants, he said that Muslims in this city had to face many problems, but they overcame these difficulties and move forward.
On this occasion, Mayor Eric Adams presented a certificate of appreciation to Muslim community representatives, They said that New York is city of all people and we should work together for progress of the city.
All the speakers at the Eid celebration event emphasized that the current situation demands that we all should remain united. A prayer was also offered for peace and security.
