NEWYORK: The Pakistani taxi driver Naveed Afzal, who was shot dead in Brooklyn by unidentified gunmen, had bought a taxi in New York after selling of his properties in Pakistan for children’s education and better future but ruthless and brutal gangsters shattered all his dreams.
Naveed Afzal Roshan, a 52-year-old resident of Toba Tek Singh district of Faisalabad, Pakistan, came to New York two years ago in search of a better future and stayed here.
According to his roommate, Mohammad Khan Randhawa, Naveed Afzal desperately tried for employment, did small jobs, but when the goddess of fortune was not kind, he had decided to buy a taxi and sold the properties in Pakistan.
Randhawa said that Naveed bought a car for a taxi and after a long wait he was given the number plates of the vehicle.
He said that Naveed also wanted to register his vehicle with the Uber company and this matter was also kept delaying.
Randhawa said that Naveed Afzal wanted to give his children a better education and bring his family to America.
He said that Naveed had started driving a taxi just two weeks ago, but the ruthless and brutal killers not only robbed him but also deprived him of life.
Al-Ryan funeral services has taken up the responsibility of funeral preparation of the deceased Naveed Afzal and the body of the deceased will be sent to his hometown Faisalabad for burial.
