NEW YORK: An Iftar dinner was hosted at Jamia Muhammadiyah Rizvia by Haji Sabir Khan and Mohammad Samar Khan in Brooklyn, New York.
The well-known businessmen of the community Haji Sabir Khan and Mohammad Samar Khan were hosting an Itfar dinner for last several years. The 16th Annual Iftar Dinner was organized at Jamia Muhammadiyah Rizvia. The Iftar Dinner was started with recitation of Hamd in the honor of Allah Almighty.
All participants of the Iftar Dinner including police officials of NYPD were warmly welcomed by the hosts. Iftar dinner at Jamia Muhammadiyah Razaviya became an example of interfaith harmony
Talking with Voice of South Asia, general secretary of Jamia Muhammadia Rizvia Masjid Samar Khan said that purpose of an Iftar dinner was to explain the blessing of Ramadan to more people.
Participants of the Iftar dinner including police officers and other officials thanked the hosts for inviting them to Iftar during the blessed month of Ramadan. On this occasion, prayers were also offered for Muslims around the world.
The participants did Iftar together and Maghrib Azaan was called. At the end of Iftar, community members and police officers were also conferred awards for their services.
