New York Police Department promote 300 police officials including 30 Muslim officers

NEW YORK: The New York Police Department has promoted more than 300 officials and officers to the next positions. Four new inspectors and five deputy inspectors have been appointed. The officers and personnel who were promoted including 30 Muslim officers and 44 civilians.

The day was not less than Eid for New York police officers and their families. At the NYPD’s police academy in Queens, everyone’s faces lit up with joy at the ceremony held in honor of officers who were promoted to the next positions.

At the beginning of the ceremony, the US National Anthem was traditionally played. They were administered oath before being promoted to new posts. Adeel Rana was promoted to Inspector and Misbah Noor to Deputy Inspector.

Police Commissioner Edward A. Caban awarded them new ranks. Adeel Rana is the first Pakistani-American who earned the position of inspector with tireless work and dedication.

Receiving the new position, the officers said that the New York Police Department is like a bouquet consisting of people of different religions and nationalities. They said that they have always tried to their best for the community.

The number of Muslims in New York police is 3,000 while the number of Pakistanis is about 500 which is gradually increasing.

Those who promoted included Mohammad Ali and Mikael Naseer, who were promoted to the rank of lieutenant and detective investigator respectively. They said that there was hardly any police department in the world which is better than the NYPD. The parents of the officers, who were promoted, were also present on the occassion and overwhelmed with happeniess.

 

They said that although children are recognized by their parents, but they are among those lucky parents as their children have become their identity. At the end of the ceremony, a prayer song, dedicated to the development and prosperity of America, was presented.
