New Jersey Muslim Officer Society calls for confirmation of third circuit court of appeals nominee Adeel Mangi

NEW YORK: New Jersey Muslim Officer Society called for immediate conformation of third circuit court of appeals nominee Adeel Mangi.

Issuing letter to Senator Cory Booker, New Jersey Muslim Officer Society President Mudduser Malik and other office bearers said that NJ MOS is the nation’s second fraternal organization to represent Muslim American law enforcement officers.

They said that NJMOS has over 100 members and has a set a high standard for Muslim law enforcement fraternal organizations across the country while working in conjunction with our fraternal brothers and sisters at the NYPD MOS. They said that NJMOS is comprised of Muslim law enforcement officers in the state of New Jersey and has membership representation at the municipal, county, state and federal level.

They said that NJMOS’s mission is to bridge the gap between law enforcement and the community while participating in a variety of community outreach initiatives as well as recruiting and mentoring future law enforcement officers.

They said that NJMOS pledge their support for the confirmation of Third Circuit Court of Appeals nominee Adeel Mangi and called on the US Senate to swiftly confirm his appointment.

NJ MOS said that  as personnel of law enforcement they understand the significance of having attorney and judges of the highest caliber in position of public trust and after careful review and consideration, MOS believe that Mr. Mangi meets this standard.

NJ MOS said that Mr. Mangi is well known in the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area in Muslim legal circles and is highly qualified for this position as he has a sterling professional record and has devoted countless hours to providing pro bono service to the individuals in need. They believe that as a judge Mr. Mangi would be fair and just to all parties appearing before him and uphold the reputation of the court.

NJ MOS said that confirming Mr. Mangi for a seat on the bench would also make him the first Pakistani American and Muslim American on the Federal Court of Appeals. They said that as a law enforcement fraternal organization, NJ MOS appreciate the significance importance of diversity in public service and they see the value of having individuals of different backgrounds in position of public authority.
