Sialkot: The first consignment of high-breed cattle imported from Brazil arrived in Pakistan.
The cargo plane of the US’s company national airlines arrived at Sialkot international airport with the first batch of high-breed cattle imported from Brazil.
The 9,044-mile flight that landed at Sialkot International Airport, departed from Brazil’s city Sao Paulo via Angola and Oman is the longest flight in history in terms of cattle import.
These cattle will be provided to local dairy farmers to cater the need of meat and milk production.
The imported cattle comprised of 9 breeds including local and Brazilian breeds.
Brazil’s government had imported the Sindhi, Guzira, Brahman and Gir breeds of cows in 1950 for purpose of cattle breeding. The cattle have been shifted to Okara from Sialkot where they shall be kept in quarantine for two weeks.
