One-day Muslim Light and Suhoor Festival concludes in New York

NEW YORK: (Special Correspondent) The first one-day Muslim Light and Suhoor festival organized by Halal Guide in New York concluded when thousands of Muslim gathered together for Suhoor.

 

Halal Guide brought a new idea and organized first of its kind Muslim Lights and the second annual Suhoor Festival at Nassau Community College Long Island.

 

In the lighting festival, different places decorated with names of Allah Almighty as well as Muslim culture and heritage which was reflecting the Islamic history.

 

Halal Guide’s Raza Dastgir and executive director of Asian Community Affairs in Nassau County Aun Naqvi said that it is very important to bring Muslims together and we have made efforts to bring together the Muslims at Suhoor after the Iftaar.

 

People including children, old and young person enjoyed the barbeque when the aroma of barbeque spread.

 

Unique and beautiful oriental dresses, khosas reflecting Punjabi culture and sandals of different designs were also become center of focus at the event.  Not only Pakistanis but also Muslims from all countries including the native, India, Arab, Bangladesh and Turkish communities gathered and enjoyed Suhoor with their families. The festival started with Isha prayer and Taraweeh prayer continued till Suhoor and later it concluded after the Fajr prayer.
