Prominent social figure of the Pakistani-American community NYC Akram Mirza laid to rest at the Washington Memorial Cemetery

New York: Akram Mirza, a prominent political, social, and business figure of the Pakistani-American community in New York, was laid to rest at the Washington Memorial Cemetery, with tears and sobs.

Akram Mirza was under treatment for some time due to cancer and he breathed his last, the other night.

He was the founder of Muhammad Masjid located in Long Island while he was also the former president of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf America chapter.

Akram Mirza was not only a core member of PTI and a close associate of Imran Khan, but he was also a prominent philanthropist who raised donations for the Shaukat Khanum Cancer Memorial Hospital in America.

Despite suffering from cancer, he continued to donate funds to Shaukat Khanum and cancer patients till his death. He also played an active role in fundraising.

Political, social, and business personalities of the community participated in large numbers.

Later, the deceased was buried in the Washington Memorial Cemetery.

The Pakistani American community has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the death of Akram Mirza.

Community leaders say that the void created by the death of Akram Mirza will not be filled for a long time.
