New York: The New York Police Department (NYPD) has acknowledged the performances of some 8 police stations for their outstanding performances in traffic handling, and death reduction during 2023.
There are also seven other police stations in different areas of New York City in which there were no casualties in traffic accidents reported during the last year.
In recognition of the performance of these police stations, they were given awards.

Compared to 2022, in 2023 all seven NYPD police stations recorded zero deaths in their limits. These include Precinct 1, 7, 67, 77, 76, 81, 83 and Central Park Precinct.
NYPD Chief of Transportation Philip P. Rivera presented the Vision Zero Awards to command-level personnel during a ceremony at police headquarters.

On this occasion, Police Commissioner Edward Caban said that Vision Zero is proof that we want to ensure that citizens traveling by public transport or in private vehicles, can reach their destinations safely.
Representatives from the Mayor’s Office of Operations, the Department of Transportation, the Department of Public Health and Mental Hygiene, the Citywide Department of Administrative Services, and the Business Integrity Commission also attended the event.
