New York: Pakistan People’s Party USA chapter, paid tribute to their martyred leader Benazir Bhutto on her 16th martyrdom anniversary, with party workers and supporters vowing to carry forward her legacy to strengthen the democracy, and rule of law.
The special event was held in Brooklyn, wherein a large number of community people including political and social figures participated.
The event participants paid tribute to late Benazir Bhutto in wonderful words. The ceremony started with the recitation of Holy Quran.
The chief guest of the event was well-known journalist Afzal Butt from Pakistan.
Speaking at the event, President of People’s Party of America Khalid Awan said: “we will never forget Benazir, we got to learn a lot from her. She was a leader who lived in our hearts and was dear to us.”
Pakistan People’s Party New York President Zafar Chatha said: “we are praying to Allah for her high ranks in Jannah.”
Journalist Afzal Butt said that it is more important to carry forward the philosophy of Benazir.
The participants in the ceremony also raised slogans in favor of democracy and rule of law. The party officials, members and others who participated in the event said that Benazir Bhutto was an exemplary leader who always promoted the prosperity of the people and the development of Pakistan and made the name of Pakistan shine all over the world.
The participants of the event also presented poems in honor of late Benazir Bhutto.
The event concluded with especial prayers for the forgiveness of late Benazir Bhutto.
