New York: Talat Mehmood, Consul of Trade and Investment Board (T&IB) of Pakistan Consulate in New York, has completed his three and a half year assignment, and to honor his services, Pakistan Overseas Forum (POF) organized a farewell dinner.
The farewell ceremony was started with the recitation of the holy word.
Diwan Ghulam Mustafa, Vice Chairman of the forum, moderated the event, introduced the guests from the community and informed about the working of his organization.
Speaking on this occasion, Talat Mehmood Gondal, the chief guest, said that he came to America for the first time in his life, and received immense support.
The event was attended by a large number of political, social and business people of the Pakistani American community.
Chairman of the forum Shahid Raza Ranjha said that Talat Mehmood is the pride of Pakistan. The community can thank him for his services. We have tried to make the deserving people of the community financially self-sufficient while Vice Chairman Dewan Ghulam Mustafa said that Talat Mehmood will always be remembered for the way he served the overseas Pakistanis.
Commanding Officers Adeel Rana and Waheed Akhtar, President of Muslim Officer Society in New York Police Department (NYPD-MOS) also participated in the ceremony. Addressing the participants, they said that the work of Pakistan Overseas Forum is not hidden from anyone, the community should continue supporting each other in the same way.
Other community personalities participating in the event highly appreciated the services rendered by Pakistan Overseas Forum for the countrymen while also presented some of their demands to Talat Mahmood Gondal.
The speakers further said that if the community works together in this way, many problems can be solved easily.
In the end, Pakistan Overseas Forum presented shields of honor to its chief guest Talat Mahmood, and other members of the consulate and prominent community personalities.
