Mateeullah, Germany,

Kashmiris, locked in lockdown for more than a year, and are looking towards United Nations and international community.

On the occasion of Kashmiris’ Right to Self-Determination Day, the Ambassador of Pakistan said that UN and international community should clarify their position against India on human rights violations committed by Indian forces against innocent Kashmiris and fulfill promise to give Kashmiris their basic right, the right to self-determination.

Speaking to media at Pakistan Embassy on Tuesday, Pakistan’s Ambassador, said that on January 5, 1949, UN had guaranteed right of the people of Jammu and Kashmir to self-determination through an impartial referendum.

We commemorate this day as a reminder to UN and its member states of their unfulfilled commitment to Kashmiri people. He said that despite facing barbaric attitude of India for 72 years, generations of Kashmiris have stood firm on UN resolutions and the right to self-determination made under UN Charter.

Ambassador called on international community to stand shoulder to shoulder with its Kashmiri brethren in struggle for independence from this cruel, inhuman and illegal occupation.
