Saudi Arabia has announced 990 billion riyals budget for next fiscal year, with 141 billion riyals of deficit. Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Aziz says corona virus has devastating effect on global economy this year
In his budget speech chaired by Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Aziz, King Salman said that Saudi Arabia will have a national budget of 990 billion riyals for the year 2021.
Revenue is estimated at 849 billion riyals, while 2020 deficit is projected to be reduced to 141 billion riyals.
Addressing budget session, Custodian of Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdul Aziz, said that this year world was hit by Corona pandemic which had a profound negative impact on world economy.
Taking all precautionary measures to deal with pandemic, free medical treatment was also provided to Corona-affected citizens and foreigners who were illegally residing in kingdom. During pandemic outbreak, Saudi cabinet allocated 500,000 riyals for each worker killed by COVID-19. The announcement came as Corona’s first case was recorded in country
Addressing online budget session, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, added: “There is no doubt that this year has been toughest in history”.
In this budget, we have given priority to health of citizens and foreigners living in country, so that effects of Corona can be better addressed.
