Senior Pakistani Journalist Arshad Waheed Passes Away of Coronavirus
Former senior vice president of the National Press Club, renowned TV anchor and senior journalist Arshad Waheed Chaudhry passed away on Saturday while under treatment as he suffered from the novel coronavirus.
The senior journalist was later placed on a ventilator as his condition had worsened, before he lost his fight against the virus and departed from this life.
Chaudhry was the host of a private Pakistani news channel Geo News programme “Geo Parliament”, where he would discuss developments pertaining to parliamentary proceedings. He was also a special correspondent for Geo News and a columnist for the Daily Jang. The senior journalist was also vice president of the National Press Club in Islamabad.
Condolences poured in soon after his demise from journalists, politicians and others whom he had interacted with professionally and personally.
The time and location of his funeral is yet to be decided.
