Pakistan Celebrates its 73rd Independence Day

Pakistan painted in green and white as the nation celebrates its 73rd independence day amid the freshly lifted lock down due to the widespread virus.

Friday, a religiously prestigious day for the Muslims, enhanced the excitement for the locals as many sought to spend the day among family on a public holiday. A herd of people had made their way to the places and monuments of national importance, to celebrate their independence while being dressed in traditional green and white.

Events were held in connection with the celebration of independence in smaller and bigger cities of the country, with the traditional gun salutes being carried out in the capital as well as the provincial heads of the country.  Flags were raised above the governmental private buildings.

Thirty-one gun salutes in the federal capital Islamabad and twenty-one gun salutes in the provincial headquarters marked the day off for the nation followed by the prestigious event of changing guards held at Mazar-e-Quaid Karachi and Allama Iqbal Tomb, Lahore.

National Flag as well as the flag of Kashmir have been raised upon government, private buildings and houses in solidarity with the Kashmiri Muslims of Indian occupied lands.

The Chief Ministers of the four province raised the flag in their respective provinces to assure that the white crescent stays well and top above everything else.

The markets and streets have been decorated with colorful buntings, with a light display expected at night. Buildings will be decorated with colorful lights and events of flag hoisting will be carried out all across the nation.
